Flint is reimagining how students learn with AI. We're building the core teaching and learning platform for K–12 schools — one that delivers personalized learning at scale while making teachers' lives easier, not harder.

We’ve been heads-down for the past two years and now work with 200+ schools across the U.S. and around the world.

We’re backed by Y Combinator (S23) and led by a lean, fast-moving team. You’ll join at the ground floor, working directly with the founders (second-time founder CEO and ex-Googler CTO) and a small group of engineers to ship ambitious, thoughtful products that power real classrooms.

🎨 What you’ll do

We’re in the middle of a major product revamp. As our first full-time designer, you’ll:

• Own UI/UX across the product — from concept to polish
• Partner closely with the founders, engineering team, and customer success team
• Interview teachers and students to deeply understand the classroom
• Translate product direction, business needs, and technical constraints into clear, classroom-friendly interfaces
• Use AI to speed up prototyping and iteration
• Ensure consistency and harmony across the product — so it feels intuitive, clean, and all the pieces work together

✅ Minimum requirements

• Strong visual and UX design skills — you can take a messy idea to clean, usable UI
• Experience designing software products end-to-end
• Comfortable collaborating closely with stakeholders to align on goals and constraints
• Able to work in-person in NYC

• Experience running user interviews or usability studies — especially with teachers or students
• Familiarity with K–12 classrooms or edtech products
• You move quickly using AI to generate mockups or accelerate iteration
