CSV export for usage analytics?

Hi Jacob, this is Julian Cochran from Durham Academy. Following up on a post from June 24, 2025 which I found when searching for any posts involving CSV, has the engineering team investigated providing admins for a school domain to download usage stats, names, user classifications, etc. as a CSV export? I’ve tried to do that using the Analytics section of our school’s Flint domain, but Sparky is telling me it does not have that capability. I’m curious to see how our students are using Flint, and hard data as opposed to anecdotal stories from my colleagues would help me. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Julian - Thanks for the question/follow-up! I am happy to share that I have some good news for you in the realm of analytics.
Although it has taken longer than we would have wanted it to, we are currently in the process of injecting new analytic insights into Flint by upgrading our data architecture. The only snag is the new system will be unable to catch some of the historical insights and so the majority of the data improvements will be from Jan. 1st of this year.
I have gone ahead and sent you an email with a sneak peek of our soon-to-be incorporated analytics - granted they will look slightly different within Flint. Happy to schedule a call and go over this in further detail and receive any and all feedback.

Would love to see the functionality where Flint can synchronise the grades of a quiz/formative/summative assessment with Schoology, and also provide targeted feedback for strengths and areas for improvement, with tailored additional practice questions.

Hi Jacob, I am looking forward to seeing the new analytics interface and detail. Is this available now or can I see a sneak peek?

Tao Wei - Couldn’t agree more. We would love to get grade pass back available for all sorts of LMS (including Schoology). Our team is researching the possibility of this in preparation for the 26-27 school year. With that said, I am curious if you have tried the .csv file download to help in uploading grades. Is there something we can do in the short-term that may make this process easier?

Jacob Edington, I’m the person who made the June 24 post referenced by Julian — suggestion: download student and teacher usage analytics data from Flint. Will the new analytics include the ability to disaggregate usage data based on whether the user has the teacher or student role?
My solution for that, which I mentioned in that June suggestion post, was having the ability to get a CSV for created activities and one for created chats that included usernames and creation dates. Then I could create the analytics myself using a spreadsheet or dashboard like Google Looker Studio. Have you or are you considering providing admins the ability to download this kind of data in case the analytics you provide online don’t answer all usage questions?
