# Detecting copied text

**Hi everyone! Is there something a teacher has to do to activate the copied text detection in an activity shared with students?**

The discussion clarifies that there is no need to activate a separate feature to detect copied text in Flint activities. Users can view students' paste history directly through the activity session overview by interacting with specific icons. You’ve created and shared a Flint activity with students, and students complete that activity, then **you will be able to see their paste history** from the activity session overview. There’s no separate “turn on copied text detection” button in Flint that you need to enable.

To view pasted content for a student:

1. Open the specific activity in Flint.
2. Choose the student whose session you want to inspect.
3. Hover over their AI chat responses.
4. Click the little **clock icon** next to a chat bubble to see that student’s **paste history** (this shows any text they pasted during that session).
5. Done

Hi Matt! There is no activation needed to use the paste detection feature. Here’s how you can check if students pasted their responses:

1. Hover over the clock icon that is on the bottom right of a student chat bubble.
2. Click the clock icon, and you’ll see paste history.
