Feature Request: Granular Alert Controls and OU-Based Routing

I would love to have more granular control over the live activity alerts system in Flint. We have discovered that some student monitoring platforms, such as GoGuardian, do not reliably capture real-time inputs within complex third-party chat interfaces like Flint. While Flint's own flagging and reporting system does successfully capture this data, the current all-in or all-out alert structure has the potential to cause notification fatigue. We specifically need the ability to filter these alerts so that counselors only receive high-priority notifications, such as references to self-harm, rather than every minor classroom behavioral issue or flagged word. It would also be extremely helpful to route alerts based on a student’s organizational unit or grade level. This would allow us to send Middle School alerts specifically for the MS division head and counselor, and same for Upper School. Having this controls directly within Flint would help reduce manual overhead and ensure that critical safety signals aren’t lost in the noise.

Hi Mary! Thank you for the message! Based on my conversations with partners all across the globe, I can confirm you are not alone in this request. The first step to us incorporating more granular alerts is setting the grade level of students - which is something we hope to incorporate sometime during this semester.

Sounds like this is becoming a priority and will be a deliverable. This would be very helpful. The description of notification fatigue is very real. Thanks for expressing this, Mary.
