How to submit an update request to Flint

\ Barbara Bilgre

Hello. Our school has just started using Flint and although I have a lot of concerns about AI, I really love how Flint is helping increase student agency in my middle school students.

Currently, Flint is unable to show student updates to the activity Overview. Since my students use it as a coaching and feedback tool rather than for graded assignments, I don’t have them submit by the end of the class and I have students work on the same chat with Sparky within the activity over several lessons.

I am working to support student agency, so I let them work and come to me with questions. However, I would like on the Activity Overview a column that shows “live” engagement activity by individual students or an updated “time of last engagement” timestamp. That way, I will know which student chats to go into to see how they are interacting with Sparky and if they might need some support from me. I don’t just want to rely on notifications when students are struggling. I also want to know that students are using Sparky to coach them through the activity. This will help me to see who is actively working without having to open each individual student session.

TIA for suggestions on how to get this request to Flint.

Hi Barbara Bilgre, thanks for reaching out with this request! Just to clarify, you want a way to see which students are actively on Flint, right? Is this within activities you’ve made or in general within open-ended chats?

Also, is there anything you’re doing right now as a workaround? Thanks!
