About
I’m a bilingual second grade teacher and adult ESL instructor with nearly two decades of experience across elementary and middle school settings, including bilingual and special education classrooms. I began my work in language education teaching English in Japan, an experience that continues to inform my approach to multilingual learners and cross-cultural instruction.
My work has always centered on making learning accessible, practical, and grounded in real classroom life—especially in multilingual environments where language, clarity, and access are always part of the work.
My approach to AI started when I realized quick answers weren’t leading to better instruction. Over time, I began using AI less as a generator and more as a thinking partner—something that supports planning, differentiation, and reflection while keeping teacher judgment and student thinking at the center.
I use a simple process: diagnose what students need, draft supports, then calibrate until those supports actually fit the classroom. That shift moved me past generic output into work I can use in real time with students.
I also share this through professional development and writing, focusing on helping educators build systems that make sense for their classrooms rather than forcing one-size-fits-all approaches.
I’m especially interested in where AI, literacy, and classroom practice meet in ways that are sustainable, realistic, and actually usable for both teachers and students.
