In this virtual conference, hosted by the Tech Enabled Teacher Community, educators at schools using Flint share their experiences using the platform. Additionally, Sohan, the co-founder and CEO of Flint, provides a live demo of the platform.

Elizabeth Brumbaugh's Presentation

Liz is the Director of Learning, Innovation and Design at The Harker School. Harker first partnered with Flint for the 2023-24 school year, and has rolled out the platform school-wide for all students and teachers to access. In her session, Liz covers the following key points:

• The Harker School aimed to better differentiate learning for students, individualize their experience, and explore better personal pathways (2:39).
• As part of the school's AI journey, Liz addressed needs such as AI awareness amongst faculty, up-skilling teachers via workshops, selecting an AI platform (Flint), and expanding integration over time (7:43).
• Liz highlights example AI tutors that Harker teachers have created within Flint and used with their students, covering examples ranging from elementary to high school grade levels (10:54).

Kevin Gregorio's Presentation

Next up was Kevin, Director of Learning Services at Saint Joseph's Preparatory High School. In his session, Kevin covers the following key points:

• Kevin sets the stage with a focus on how Flint can be used to facilitate self-regulated learning with students, covering research that shows the effectiveness of retrieval practice for student learning (1:30).
• Next, Kevin shares how AI tutors on Flint have been a great tool to provide students with retrieval practice and explains how Flint enables him to control the helpfulness level of the AI (14:25).
• Kevin wraps up by sharing the story of a student who embraced Flint not just for assignments, but also to drive his own personalized learning across multiple subjects (19:51).

Sohan Choudhury's Presentation

The following day, Sohan presented a session at the conference. In his session, Sohan covered the following key points:

• Sohan shares the evolution of Flint from a content generation tool for teachers to an AI platform that focuses on delivering personalized learning for students (2:33).
• Next, Sohan provides a live demo of Flint, showing an example of how a teacher can create an AI tutor for a biology class and view student responses (6:49).
• He showcases Flint's capabilities in providing AI tutoring in math, including image processing and built-in equation editor (20:50).
• Sohan wraps up with teacher testimonials and his perspective on the future of AI development as chatbots become increasingly commonplace (27:23).
